Evan Jacob Named MVP for Eagles Baseball Team

United States Sports University's Baseball Team voted freshman catcher Evan Jacob as team Most Valuable Player for the 2024-25 season.  Jacob, a freshman catcher from Chalmette, Louisiana (Chalmette HS) led the Eagles in hitting with a .429 batting average.  Jacob also led the team in hits with 51, doubles with 15, and runs batted in with 30.  "Evan had a sensational first season for us, having that kind of offensive season was very impressive considering he was also catching the majority of the time," said Eagles Head Coach Mike Neal.

Winning the team's Most Improved Player award was Weston Brock from Fairhope, Alabama.  Brock eventually won the starting job at first base while hitting .373 with four home runs.  "Weston came a long way from the fall to end up as our starting first baseman," said Neal.  "His work ethic on the field, in the cages and in the weight room told the whole story as to why he is so very deserving of this award," added Neal.

Ryan Carson was voted at the Most Improved Pitcher for the Eagles.  Carson, a sophomore from Howell, Michigan, really came on strong and led the Eagles in victories with six and added one save.  "Ryan really got better from the fall and beginning of the spring until now," added Neal.

The Eagles finished their inaugural season with a record of 21-16.
