Box Score 4 Daphne, AL - The United States Sports University took on the Makos of Lighthouse Christian in a four-game series on Thursday and Friday in Daphne. USSU put up 48 runs as they won by scores of 11-5, 20-8, 10-3 and 7-3. The Eagles are now on a six-game winning streak.
In game one,
Jaden Brown picked up the win on the mound. The Eagles offense was led by
Evan Jacob, who was 3 for 4 with 4 runs batted in.
Andrew Garza added two hits and two RBI's. The Eagles scored ten runs in the first three innings to coast to the victory. Brown pitched the first six innings before
Ray Hernandez pitched a scoreless 7th inning.
In game two, the Eagle bats exploded as eleven Eagles recorded hits led by
Randy Hernandez and
Dominick Hartman each going two for two.
Victor Tyo started and picked up the win on the mound.
The series moved to Friday and the Eagles claimed two more wins. In game one,
Ryan Carson pitched a 7 inning complete game not allowing an earned run. Hartman,
Hayden Jones and
Weston Brock all recorded two hits while Joe Monaghan was 3 for 3 at the plate. Hartman homered for the fifth time of the season. In the final game of the series, Hartman homered again for his team-leading sixth home-run of the season and
Andre Poirrier added a pair of hits.
Case Hager pitched a solid six innings picking up the win while
Justin Graham pitched a scoreless seventh inning to close out the win.
The Eagles are now 12-7 on the season and resume action on Tuesday in New Orleans as they take on Dillard University in a 10 AM doubleheader.
