USSU Splits Opening Day at BPC Invitational

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The United States Sports University volleyball team opened the 2026 season with a 3-0 sweep against Wesleyan before falling 3-1 to Truett McConnell on the first day of the Brewton-Parker Invitational on Friday.
 
USSU 3, Wesleyan 0
USSU (1-1) rolled to a 3-0 victory over Wesleyan (0-2), winning 25-18, 25-16, 25-17. USSU earned its first win as an NAIA program in its first match as an NAIA member.
 
Truett McConnell 3, USSU 1
The Eagles fell to Truett McConnell (2-0) 3-1, dropping the final two sets after splitting the opening two, 25-21, 25-20, 25-15, 25-18.
 
Up Next
USSU will finish its opening weekend at the Brewton-Parker Invitational with a pair of matches against Brewton-Parker (12 p.m. EST) and Brenau (4 p.m. EST) Saturday.
