DUBOIS, Pa. – The No. 4-seeded United States Sports University baseball team made its first postseason appearance in program history Monday, falling 6-2 to the No. 5 seed, Penn State Du Bois in the opening round of the USCAA Small College World Series at Showers Field.

Du Bois (31-6) struck first in the opening inning with a sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead.

The Eagles (23-20) answered in the second.
Daniel Howell singled and later scored on an RBI single by
Kade Wall to tie the game at 1-1.

The Nittany Lions regained the lead in the fourth on a two-run double by Braylen Corter before USSU responded in the bottom half.
Chase Jones singled,
Hayden Jones advanced him with a sacrifice bunt and
Alexander (Alex) Maguire brought home the run with an RBI groundout to trim the deficit to 3-2.

Du Bois added a run in the fifth on an RBI single and scored twice more in the sixth to extend the lead to 6-2.

Wall and Maguire each drove in a run while
Cory Parker added a double. Seven different Eagles tallied a hit.

Morgan (Henry) Sauber (7-2) took the loss, allowing six runs on 12 hits over six innings.
Giovanny Perez tossed a perfect seventh inning in relief.
