DALLAS, Texas – The United States Sports University baseball team outlasted Dallas Christian College in a high-scoring 17-16 contest on Tuesday.

The Eagles (16-12) scored a season-high 17 runs while hitting two home runs for the third time this season.

USSU scored once in the first, then erupted for six runs in the second.
Cory Parker highlighted the inning with a grand slam and
Dominick Hartman followed with a two-run shot to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead.

After Dallas Christian chipped away, the Eagles extended the lead with a run in the fourth and five more in the sixth. Parker delivered an RBI double, Hartman added an RBI double and the Eagles strung together multiple hits to push the advantage to 13-3.

Dallas Christian answered with nine runs in the sixth and continued to rally late, eventually taking a 16-13 lead entering the ninth.

The Eagles responded in the final frame.
Evan Jacob doubled to spark the rally, and
John (Porter) Wilsey delivered a two-run single. USSU took advantage of two errors to plate two more runs and reclaim the lead at 17-16, then closed it out in the bottom half.

Jacob led the Eagles with a season-high four hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs. Hartman finished with three hits, including his team-leading sixth home run of the season, and three RBIs.

Parker drove in five runs, becoming the third player in program history to record five RBIs in a single game.
