MOBILE, Ala. – The United States Sports University baseball team fell in 7-6 in 10 innings to Mobile on Tuesday evening at Jacobs Field.

Mobile (7-16) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single by Reed Wilson and a run-scoring error.

USSU (8-8) responded in the fourth when
Evan Jacob launched a solo home run to left field. Later in the inning
Chase Jones followed with a two-run single to give the Eagles a 3-2 lead.

The Rams answered with two runs in the bottom half on a two-run single from Jake Hammonds to move back in front 4-3.

The Eagles tied the game in the fifth when Howell delivered an RBI double to score
Dominick Hartman. USSU then moved ahead in the sixth after
Hayden Jones singled and later scored on an RBI single by
Cory Parker before
Napoleon Colston crossed the plate on an error to extend the lead to 6-4.

Mobile rallied in the ninth. Steele Sims doubled home a run before scoring on a wild pitch to tie the game at 6-6.

The Rams completed the comeback in the 10th when Adrian Salas delivered a walk-off RBI single down the left-field line.

Howell led the Eagles with three hits and an RBI while Jacob added a home run. Jones recorded two RBIs and Parker added an RBI as USSU totaled eight hits.

Victor Tyo (0-2) took the loss in relief. Carson Ellis (1-0) earned the win for Mobile after four scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
