DAPHNE, Ala. – The United States Sports University baseball team clinched the series win against Florida National after
Daniel Howell hit a walk-off home run in game two of Sunday's doubleheader at the Daphne Sports Complex.

Game One | Florida National 3, USSU 2
Florida National (5-5) capitalized on two errors and two hit batters in the second to take a 3-0 lead.

USSU (4-2) answered with a run in the bottom of the second on an RBI fielder's choice by
Kade Wall, then pulled within 3-2 in the sixth when
Evan Jacob doubled to left field to score
Cory Parker.
Â
The Eagles finished with six hits, including two from Parker, but stranded runners in both the sixth and seventh innings.

Howell (0-1) took the loss despite allowing just three hits and no earned runs while striking out eight over 7.0 innings. Antonio Guzman (1-0) earned the win after yielding two runs, one earned, over 5.0 innings and Evan Dalmau recorded his second save with two scoreless innings.

Game Two | USSU 12, Florida National 9
USSU opened the scoring in the second inning on an RBI groundout by
Chase Jones. The Conquistadors answered with a two-run home run in the fifth to take the lead, but the Eagles moved back in front in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI single by
Braden Braud and a run-scoring play that made it 3-2.

Dominick Hartman extended the lead in the sixth with a two-run home run to give USSU a 5-2 lead. Florida National responded in the seventh with a solo homer and two three-run shots to surge ahead 9-5.

Trailing 9-5 entering the final frame, USSU mounted a four-hit rally highlighted by a two-run single from Hartman and a walk off three-run home run by Howell to complete the comeback.

Hartman finished 3-for-4 with a home run, double and four RBIs, while Howell added a three-run homer in his lone at-bat.
Â
Deagan Dailey (1-0) earned the win in relief while Cole Philips (1-2) took the loss.
