USSU Fall 2–0 on the Road at Faulkner University

Montgomery, AL – The USSU Eagles women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 2–0 decision on the road Monday evening against Faulkner University.

The Eagles created quality looks throughout the match, tallying 27 total shots with 12 on target, but were unable to find the finishing touch. Ansley Warner led the attack with six shots, including four on goal, while Saneya "Tiki" Gutierrez added five attempts, keeping steady pressure on the Faulkner defense. Emma Deacon contributed four shots, and Katherine Solis added three as USSU kept possession moving into the attacking third.

In goal, Abby Bengtson turned in another strong outing, recording five saves across 90 minutes. Her composure in net anchored the back line as the Eagles battled to stay within reach.

With the loss, the Eagles move to 2–3 on the season, with setbacks coming on the road. The performance marked another competitive showing against a tough opponent as the squad continues to build rhythm early in the campaign.

The Eagles will return to the pitch on Saturday, September 20, hosting Tougaloo College at 5:00 p.m. USSU will look to bounce back and translate its attacking chances into goals.
