Summit, MS – The USSU Eagles women's soccer team battled throughout the evening but came up short in a 4–0 road loss to Southwest Mississippi Community College.
The Eagles generated opportunities on the attacking end, recording eight total shots. Saneya "Tiki" Gutierrez and
Ansley Warner each placed attempts on goal, while
Ambria Snell and
Emma Deacon added shots to keep pressure on the opposing defense.
In goal,
Abby Bengtson was a steady presence, collecting 11 saves across 90 minutes. Her consistent work between the posts provided stability as the Eagles looked to stay in the match against a high-volume attack.
The Eagles are on the road on Friday, September 5 at host Hinds Community College at 5:00 p.m.
