Fairhope, AL - The USSU women's soccer team fell 3–1 to Pensacola State College. Pensacola State struck early, scoring twice in quick succession early in the first half—finding the net around the 13:56 mark and again immediately after, before PSC added a third goal just before halftime. The Eagles struggled to keep pace in the first 45, falling behind 3–0.
In the second half, Emma Deacon cut into the deficit in the 66:32 minute, converting a pass from Ambria Snell to pull the Eagles within two. Though the Eagles pressed for more, they were unable to overcome the more dominant showing by Pensacola State.
Goalkeeper Abby Bengtson made 16 saves, holding firm despite the barrage of attacks. The Eagles also earned 2 corner kicks and committed 2 fouls, while Pensacola State registered 5 corners and 3 fouls.
USSU will return home to host a Sunday afternoon matchup against Spring Hill College on September 28.
