Livingston, AL – The United States Sports University women's volleyball team battled through two matches at the University of West Alabama Tri-Match on Friday, falling to both Georgia College & State University and West Alabama.
In the opener against Georgia College, the Eagles dropped a 3-0 decision (25-9, 25-7, 25-10) but saw strong efforts from Emmory McMurtray, who led the attack with four kills, and
Cecilia Craig, who delivered four service aces. Defensively,
Oriana Morin and McMurtray anchored the back row with three digs each.
In the nightcap against host West Alabama, USSA again showed fight in a straight-set loss (25-6, 25-11, 25-5). McMurtray once more paced the offense with five kills, while
Jeya Dupris added two. Morin continued her steady defensive play, finishing with a team-high eight digs.
The Eagles play Wednesday, September 24 at Coastal Alabama - South.
