Softball Falls to Georgia Gwinnett

Box Score Daphne, AL - The United States Sports University hosted #9 ranked Georgia Gwinnett College on Tuesday in Daphne and saw the Grizzly's pull away with a six-run 7th inning in a 14-7 loss.  Georgia Gwinnett scored a pair of runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead before the Eagles came back with three runs in the bottom half highlighted by a two-run double by Ahlexus Lackey. The Grizzly's added a three-run inning in the second before the Eagles answered with a pair in the bottom of the second inning.  Heather Maxwell hit a two-run home-run to tie the game at 5-5 after two innings.  Georgia Gwinnett tacked on three more runs in the third to take a 8-5 lead.

USSA answered with single runs in the 4th and 6th innings to cut the lead to 8-7. Sydney Taylor hit a solo home-run in the 4th inning followed by Taylor with an RBI single in the 6th scoring Maxwell to cut the lead to 8-7. The Grizzly's plated six runs in the top of the 7th to pull away for the victory.
