Talladega, AL - The Lady Eagles fought hard, but ultimately fell 3-2 to Talladega. The Tornados got off to a blistering start, taking a 2-0 lead by the 41st minute and further extended it to 3-0 just after halftime.
Facing a sizable deficit, USSU shifted their momentum in the second half.
Ambria Snell broke through at the 64:36 mark and
Ansley Warner followed with another goal at 69:06, bringing the score to 3-2 and giving the Eagles a lifeline.Â
Despite out-possession being limited (USSU recorded only 13 shots vs Talladega's 28) and only 2 corner kicks to Talladega's 4, the Eagles showed fight. In goal,
Abby Bengtson tallied 14 saves, keeping the Eagles in contention as they mounted their rally.
The Eagle will next head across the bay to compete against University of Mobile on October 27th.
