Mobile, AL - In a hard-fought matchup, the USSU Eagles fell to the University of Mobile Rams by a final score of 4–2. Despite the loss, the Eagles displayed determination and a standout effort in goal to keep the contest competitive from start to finish.
The opening half was fast-paced, with both teams trading early chances. The Rams struck first and built a 3–1 lead before halftime, but the Eagles kept their composure and continued to press forward. Ansley Warner found the back of the net to put USSU on the board, giving the team momentum heading into the break.
In the second half, both sides added one more goal apiece. Ambria Snell delivered the Eagles' second strike, set up by a sharp assist from Katherine Solis. Defensively, goalkeeper Abby Bengston turned in a stellar performance, playing the full 90 minutes and recording 11 saves to keep the Rams within reach.
The Eagles will look to build on this effort as they finish out the season at Tougaloo College on October 30th.
