PACE, Fla. – The No. 4 United States Sports University baseball team used a big seventh inning to pull away for a 10-2 win over John Melvin – Pace on Sunday afternoon.
 
Quick Hitters
- The Eagles (22-18) scored in each of the first three innings to build an early 4-0 lead.
- Evan Jacob opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first, while Cory Parker added an RBI in the second.
- Alex Maguire delivered a two-run double in the third to extend the lead.
- John Melvin cut into the lead with a run in the fifth and another in the eighth, but USSU maintained control throughout.
- The Eagles broke the game open in the seventh inning, plating six runs on five hits to extend the lead to 10-1.
- Parker (3-for-6, 2 RBI), Jacob (2-for-4, 3 RBI), and Dominick Hartman (2-for-5, 2 RBI) led a 15-hit offensive effort.
- Braden Braud reached base five times, going 2-for-2 with three walks and two runs scored.
- Deagan Dailey (4-4) earned the win, tossing 7.1 innings while allowing two runs and striking out six.
- Dailey and Victor Tyo combined to hold John Melvin to four hits on the night.
 
Up Next
The Eagles return home to host Baptist University of Florida in the regular season finale on Tuesday at noon.
