GRACEVILLE, Fla. – The No. 7 United States Sports University softball swept Tuesday's road doubleheader against Baptist University of Florida.

The Eagles (14-21) matched their season-high 14 hits in both wins. USSU moved to 4-0 on the season versus BUF (6-31)

Game 1 | USSU 9, Baptist University of Florida 2
USSU struck first with two runs in the opening inning.
Sydney Taylor delivered an RBI double and
Isabelle Calagaz followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.

The Eagles added two more in the third.
Hayden Beasley delivered a two-run double to extend the lead to 4-0.

Baptist (6-31) cut the deficit to 4-2 in the bottom half, but USSU broke the game open in the fifth with five runs.
Irina Sanford delivered a two-run double,
Liana Gonzalez followed with a two-run single and Calagaz added an RBI single to push the lead to 9-2.

Kassidy (Rowdy) New led the Eagles with three hits while Calagaz added three hits and two RBIs. Sanford, Gonzalez and Beasley each drove in two runs as part of the 14-hit effort. USSU matched its season-high four doubles in the win.

Ryleigh Merritt (6-8) earned the win, allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings with four strikeouts.

Game 2 | USSU 11, Baptist University of Florida 2
USSU scored four runs in the first. New drove in a run with a single, Beasley followed with a two-run triple and
Morgan Courtney added an RBI single to make it 4-0.

The Eagles added two more in the second. New delivered another RBI single and a run scored on an error to extend the lead to 6-0.

USSU pushed three runs across in the third.
Aralee Beene drove in two with a single and New added an RBI groundout to make it 9-0.

Baptist answered with two runs in the bottom half, but the Eagles added insurance in the sixth. Beene delivered an RBI single and New drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the scoring at 11-2.

Beene led the Eagles with three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored while New added two hits and a season-high four RBIs. Calagaz finished with three hits and an RBI as USSU totaled 14 hits.

Breana Barnes (7-10) earned the win with two scoreless innings.
McKynzi Dawson worked four innings in relief, allowing two runs.
