PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Four members of the United States Sports University track and field team earned recognition from the USCAA after being named athletes of the week.
Jasper Nero,
Roderickas Burnett,
Maryam Williams and
Shaterica Griffin each received an award for their performances.

Burnett was named the USCAA Men's Jumper of the Week after he broke his own school record while earning a victory in the triple jump with a career-best 14.67m (14-1.75). Â Burnett took home the win in a field that featured multiple NCAA Division II and III competitors.

Nero, who earned the USCAA Men's Thrower of the Week award, placed third in the shot put with a 13.51m (44-4) attempt, which set a personal record. He did this in a field that featured NCAA Division I competition from South Alabama and Western Carolina.

Williams, the USCAA Women's Runner of the Week, broke her own school record while finishing fourth in the 400m with a time of 1:01.50. She did this in a field that featured Division II, II and NAIA competition.

Griffin took home the USCAA Women's Thrower of the Week honor after she broke her own school record with a personal-best discus throw of 28.35m (93-0) at the South Alabama Invitational.Â
