Bay Minette, AL ā The USSU Eagles women's volleyball team faced a challenging day on the road, falling in straight sets in both matches of a tri-match hosted by Coastal Alabama Community College ā South.
In the first match, the Eagles were defeated 3ā0 by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, with set scores of 25ā9, 25ā19, and 25ā8. Despite the loss, standout performances came from
Jeya Dupris, who recorded 6 kills and 3 aces, and Emmory McMurtray, who contributed 3 kills and led the team with 9 digs.
Later in the day, the Eagles faced Coastal Alabama Community College ā South and were again swept 3ā0, with set scores of 25ā5, 25ā10, and 25ā20.
Jeya Dupris led the team with 5 kills, while
Brenna Davis added 4 kills. Defensively,
Aubree Lamb and Emmory McMurtray each recorded 10 digs.
The Eagles, now holding an 0ā3 overall record, continue to demonstrate resilience and teamwork.Ā They will return to action on August 30, visiting Coastal Alabama Community College ā NorthĀ in Brewton, AL. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
