Eagles Fall 3–2 in Hard-Fought Road Battle at John Melvin Christian College

Pensacola, FL – In a tightly contested matchup on the road, the USSU Eagles men's soccer team put forth a spirited performance but ultimately fell 3–2 to John Melvin Christian College. Despite the final result, the Eagles displayed early promise and tenacity throughout the evening's play.

Goalkeeper Adam (AJ) Chambers stood tall between the sticks, making 7 saves over a full 90 minutes and keeping his side competitive amid relentless pressure. His steadfast presence was a defining asset for USSU's defense.

On the offensive front, the Eagles struck early when Henry McMurphy found the back of the net in the 2nd minute, giving USSU a quick 1–0 lead. However, John Melvin responded swiftly— equalized in the 4th minute. The hosts then seized control as JMCC tallied strikes in the 10th and 22nd minutes respectively, establishing a commanding 3–1 advantage. Just before the half concluded, Nathan Webb ripped one home in the 34th minute, pulling USSU within striking distance at 3–2.

The Eagles will be on the road again on Friday, August 29th at 7:00 p.m. as they face Belhaven University.
