Eagles Overpowered by William Carey

Hattiesburg, MS – The United States Sports University men's soccer team endured a challenging night on the road, falling 9–0 to William Carey on Tuesday evening.

Though the final scoreline was lopsided, the Eagles battled throughout and saw standout efforts in goal. Goalkeeper David Sandoval-Cruz started the match and recorded three saves before Adam Chambers came on to anchor the net, tallying nine stops of his own against a relentless William Carey attack.

USSU managed three shots on the night, two of which landed on frame, as Jorge Santamaria, Jackson Callaway, and Nathan Webb each tested the opposing keeper.

Defensively, the Eagles made multiple substitutions in hopes of slowing the Crusaders, but William Carey capitalized early and often with seven goals in the opening half and two more in the second.

With the result, USSU drops to 0-4-1 on the season. The Eagles will look to regroup and turn lessons from this matchup into momentum as they head to Point University on Thursday.
