Lawrenceville, GA - The USSU Eagles suffered a tough 6–1 defeat on the road Saturday against Carolina University. From the opening kickoff, Carolina came out firing, scoring four goals in the first half to build a commanding lead.
USSU managed to answer back in the 24:12 minute when
Kidomo Albert converted to get the Eagles on the board, marking his fourth goal of the season. However, Carolina pulled away further in the second half, with strikes in the 79th and 87th minute, sealing the 6–1 final.
Statistically, Carolina outshot USSU 23 to 16, with 14 shots on goal compared to USSU's 7. The Eagles' goalkeepers combined for 8 saves (5 in the first half, 3 in the second), but were overwhelmed by the volume and quality of Carolina's attack. On set pieces, USSU logged 3 corners to Carolina's 9, and committed 11 fouls compared to Carolina's 22.
Looking ahead, USSU must regroup quickly as they head to Millsaps College on October 14th.
