Three-time Olympian Gabor Mate is in his second season with men's and women's track and field programs at the United States Sports University. Mate brings to USSUÂ coaching experience as a personal throw coach as well as the Head Coach of the Bay Area Bombers Track Club out of Mobile, Alabama.
Mate, a graduate of Auburn University, earned a double major in finance and economics. While at Auburn, Mate was a two-time national champion in the Discus.Â
After competing at Auburn, Mate went to the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. Mate's highest finish in the Olympics was 11th place in the discus.
