HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The United States Sports University men's soccer team will open its inaugural NAIA campaign when it hosts Texas Wesleyan on Friday.
   
MEDIA INFORMATION

NAIA DEBUT
The Eagles will make their debut in the NAIA after being approved back in April and officially joining on July 1. USSU is a member of the Continental Athletic Conference, which is the NAIA's independent conference.
 
FIRST-TIME FOES
USSU will play the Rams for the first time in program history. Texas Wesleyan marks the 18^th unique opponent for the Eagles.
 
KEY RETURNERS
Key returners for USSU include junior midfielder Henry McMurphy (4G, 1A, 9P), junior midfielder/forward Carter Willis (3G, 2A, 8P, 1 GW) and sophomore defender DeMarcus Hawkins (2G, 1A, 5P).
 
NEUTRAL NOTE
The match marks the first of two neutral-site contests that USSU will play on the campus of William Carey University. The Eagles will serve as the home team for the season opener, as well as their next match when they open CAC play against Florida National on Aug. 28.
