Box Score DAPHNE, AL — The United States Sports Academy Men's Soccer Team picked up their first win of the season in convincing fashion by a 6-0 score against William Carey University on Wednesday afternoon at the Fairhope Soccer Complex. The Eagles struck just 50 seconds into the match as
Ty Ferguson scored after a turnover in the middle third of the field as Jaidon Workman played a ball to Ferguson who found the back of the net.
Jeremy Baragan scored his first goal of the season just a minute and a half later to give USSA a 2-0 lead just a couple of minutes into the match. At the 8:02 mark, Ferguson scored his second goal of the match.
Jorge Santamaria and Workman each added first half goals to give the Eagles a 5-0 halftime advantage.
The Eagles added one more goal in the second half as
Brady Mize scored his first collegiate goal as USSA moves to 1-5-2 on the year but 1-4-2 in the Collegiate Development League. William Carey is now 1-6 in the conference.
For the match the Eagles out-shot the Crusaders 30-0 and will play at Faulkner University in Montgomery to wrap up the conference regular season.
"I was very pleased with our performance today, it's been coming for the past two weeks, I've seen a lot of improvement in our group," said USSA Head Coach Peter Fuller.
