Dr. Steve Condon is the third President and first Director of Athletics at the United States Sports Academy.
Dr. Condon received his education and degrees from Boston State College, Florida State University, University of Alabama, University of Mississippi and Harvard University.
Prior to becoming the President at USSA, he served as the Chancellor of Carolina University, President of John Wesley and Tennessee Wesleyan Universities, Vice President and Dean of Letourneau, St. Thomas and Reinhardt Universities, and Dean of Huntingdon College. He earned the rank of Professor of Education in 2001. Â
During his coaching career in Alabama in the 1980’s, Dr. Condon was named National Coach of the Year five times while his teams won four NAIA National Championships. In 1988, he coached the USA National Team to the Gold Medal in the World Championships in Rome. Thanks to this success, in the sport of golf, he was inducted into the NCAA Hall of Fame as a coach in 2014.
Dr. Condon resides in Daphne, AL with his wife of 46 years, Rebecca, a published author and a retired school librarian. His son Curtis owns a tech company in Atlanta and his daughter, Alexis, a navy veteran with four tours of duty, serves as a human resources officer for a large global corporation. Dr. Condon has two granddaughters.
